When I was a kid I had a lot of comics, including spidey first album and inside at the end of the album there was an awesome illustration showing peter parker walking on the street at night with the shadow of spider man looking him.

I do agree you can be a fan without knowing every tiny, obscure detail, but there are a couple of seemingly "basic" things that are just bug people a little.

The only one that really comes to mind...
